The Fitzwilliam Food Test is a blood test which diagnoses food intolerance. Food Intolerance is different from allergy in that the onset of symptoms is more gradual, and the symptoms tend to be chronic rather than acute. It takes approximately twenty minutes to have a blood sample taken for testing and it can be done alongside your regular acupuncture session if you wish. A small blood sample is taken from a finger, and sent to the laboratory where it will be placed on a varietyof food samples in order to measure the level of IgG antibodies produced. It is important not to eliminate any foods from your diet prior to testing, and to eat a good variety of foods in the days prior to taking the test. Test results are available within 14 days.
